Red Sox Show Off Bats with a Frenzy of Runs

Red Sox starter, John Lackey, was making his second start since returning from the DL. He got ample run support. Lackey would go 6 innings, giving up 4 runs in the process. Brandon Morrow, the Jays starter, had a disasterous start, giving up 9 runs in 4.1 innings before John Farrel, the Jays manager, took him out of the game. The Sox got their first run on A-Gon’s RBI double in the third inning. In that inning, the Sox would score another 3 more runs. After David Ortiz was intentionally walked, Jed Lowrie would get hit by a pitch, forcing a runner home. Carl Crawford would bring in A-Gon with a sacrifice fly out to left field. Marco Scutaro would bring in Big Papi from second base with a soft single. There was a close play at the plate, but Big Papi was safe.
